Footage of Maya Rudolph chatting with David Letterman in 2009 has resurfaced amid her revelation that she felt “embarrassed and humiliated” by him.

In a clip from her first “Late Show with David Letterman” appearance, the comedian, 50, could be seen receiving an apology from the late-night talk show host, 75, after he mispronounced her name before she walked out on stage.

Rudolph recalled the mishap in an interview with WSJ. magazine, published on Friday.

“He said my name wrong, and I just sat there, like, I grew up my whole life in love with you. And now my heart is broken. And I’m sitting here embarrassed and humiliated.”

Rudolph admitted that she “didn’t know how to handle” the situation at the time.

“I didn’t know how to come up with something funny to say,” she confessed. “My public persona muscle wasn’t strong yet.”

However, since then, she’s “definitely gotten much better” at public appearances, she told the outlet, adding, “When I’m uncomfortable, I try to be funny.”

A rep for Letterman did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.

Elsewhere in the interview, Rudolph explained why she doesn’t see herself as a celebrity – despite her decades-long career in the spotlight.

“I know I’m a working actor and people know who I am, but I don’t feel like a celebrity, because that word means something else today to me,” the actress, who rose to fame after joining “Saturday Night Live” in 1999, shared.

“There are a lot of different types of celebrities these days and a lot of self-made celebrities where people are famous for being famous, and that isn’t what I do.”

The “Away We Go” star – who shares Pearl, 17, Lucille, 12, Jack, 11, and Minnie, 9, with partner Paul Thomas Anderson – added that family is priority these days.

“Believe me, I am not a Pollyanna who’s like, I smile all day, every day. I get stressed out, I get pissed off, but I learned I could make a choice for myself, and it’s liberating,” she said.
