She had some bad news as she went into the practice room to get ready for her routine with partner Sasha Farber.

Sasha heard Selma say, ""I had these MRIs. As you are aware, I have been monitored throughout this process and am in contact with my doctors.

I gave it my all and when the results came back, it all added up to the fact that I couldn't continue in the competition."

Selma warned her that continuing would cause serious harm to her body.

But she promised that her 11-year-old son, Arthur, would learn from it, assuring Sasha, "I'll have to settle down and go back."

"To be a mom and to demonstrate that I sometimes have to put my passions on hold and make difficult choices."

Selma responded, "I truly want to have one final wonderful dance with you," not wanting to be let down.

Selma and Sasha's magnificent waltz, which was set to "What the World Needs Now," had everyone in the ballroom on their feet.
