White House, some Republicans criticize Trump for hosting Holocaust revisionist and Kanye

The White House condemned Donald Trump on Saturday after the former US president met Kanye West, a famous Holocaust revisionist and rapper who has been caught in an anti-Semitic firestorm,

Trump admitted to having dinner Tuesday night at Mar-a-Lago with West,  now  known as Ye,  and said he brought  friends, including Nick Fuentes, openly anti-Semitic and racist.

"I did not know Nick Fuentes," Trump posted on his Truth Social account late Friday.

White House Deputy Press Secretary Andrew Bates condemned Trump's meeting with Fuentes, who  the US Justice Department describes as a supporter of white supremacy.

“Bigotry, hatred and anti-Semitism have  no place in America – including  Mar-a-Lago. Holocaust denial is abhorrent and dangerous and  must be strongly condemned," Bates said in a statement.

US President Joe Biden, who is spending the holiday weekend in Nantucket, dismissed a question about Trump's dinner. "You don't want to hear that. I think," he said.

Fuentes has questioned the number of Jews who died in the Holocaust and claims that Israel has a malign influence on American politics.

His YouTube channel was permanently suspended in early 2020 for violating the  hate speech policy of the platform.

He participated in the racist Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville in 2017 and the Stop the Steal event on January 6, which caused a riot at the Capitol.
